How to Register

  • Register online at the Georgia Secretary of State's website
  • Mail a completed voter registration application to your county registrar
  • Register in person at your county Board of Registrars, DDS customer service centers, or other government offices

Voter ID Requirements

Accepted Forms of Identification

  • Georgia driver's license (even if expired)
  • Georgia voter identification card (free from county election offices or DDS)
  • Valid U.S. passport or passport card
  • Valid employee ID from any federal, state, or local government entity
  • Valid U.S. military ID
  • Valid tribal ID

What if I don't have ID?

If you do not have one of the accepted photo IDs, you may get a free Georgia Voter Identification Card from your county election office or any DDS office. If you vote without photo ID, you may cast a provisional ballot and have 3 business days to present acceptable ID to your county registrar.

Early Voting & Absentee / Mail-In Voting

Available

Begins 17 days before Election Day (mandatory); ends the Friday before Election Day. Counties must offer at least one Saturday of early voting.

Absentee / Mail-In

No excuse required

Any registered voter may request an absentee ballot. Applications must be submitted no earlier than 78 days and no later than 11 days before the election. Ballots must be received by your county election office by 7:00 PM on Election Day.
