About Election Education

We exist to provide clear, accurate, and nonpartisan civic education to every American who wants to understand and participate in our democratic process.

Our Mission

Election Education is dedicated to nonpartisan voter education. We believe that understanding democracy starts with knowledge — knowledge of how elections work, what rights voters have, and how to navigate the voting process. Our mission is to ensure that every eligible American has access to the clear, factual information they need to participate fully in our democratic system, regardless of where they live, which party (if any) they belong to, or how much they already know.

What We Believe

Nonpartisan Integrity

We do not endorse, support, or oppose any candidate, political party, or political position. Our content is rigorously nonpartisan, presenting facts and processes without editorial slant. We believe informed citizens — not persuaded citizens — are the foundation of democracy.

Accuracy & Transparency

Every piece of information on this site is fact-checked against official government sources and authoritative nonpartisan references. We cite our sources, correct errors promptly, and clearly distinguish between federal and state-specific information.

Accessibility & Inclusion

Democracy works best when everyone can participate. We strive to make election information accessible to all Americans, regardless of education level, language, disability, or prior political engagement. Clear language and inclusive design are core to our approach.

Education Over Advocacy

We teach how democracy works — we do not tell people how to use it. Our role is to equip citizens with the knowledge and tools to make their own informed decisions. We explain processes, rights, and structures so that participation becomes easier, not to influence outcomes.

Nonpartisanship & Compliance

Election Education operates as a nonpartisan educational resource. Our content is designed to comply with 501(c)(3) requirements for tax-exempt organizations, which prohibit participation or intervention in any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for public office.

This means we:

  • Never endorse or oppose any candidate, political party, or PAC
  • Present all election information in a neutral, fact-based manner
  • Do not rate, rank, or compare candidates or their positions
  • Focus exclusively on education about processes, rights, and civic participation
  • Link only to official government sources and recognized nonpartisan organizations
